Nature Got Attitude...

Opportunists (ferns find a toe-hold)

Co-existers (trillium and wild leeks)

Bully (raging spring torrent)

Adapter (yellow birch tip-toes over old foundry wall)

Peacemakers (hemlocks stand silently above the riverbed)

Odd. I was just out taking pictures of ferns around rocks, as well. Your photos are so beautiful and pristine that I yearn to be in the middle of them.

Thanks for the help on separating the photos on my blog. I haven't tried it yet, but I will.

The trillium is the official flower of the provence of Ontario.

Just sayin'...

Oh, and thanks for the HORSE LAUGH award!

Outstanding pictures Wizard!
I confess,I have a love of Nature gone cranky...Stand on the Grand Mesa in Colorado where the peals of thunder make your bones ache..It's magnificent!

Beautiful photographs. What kind of camera do you use? Are you self taught or have you had formal training?

It isn't coincidence that Robin and Foam were also out taking photos. Nature is speaking to us (especially in spring); some of us just seem to hear her more clearly than others do.

Craig - Hey! You INSPIRED the Horse Laugh Award!

Zen - Gee, maybe I could use High Times as a stepping stone to becoming a photog for Good Housekeeping! LOL I'll bet the average viewer of a HT pic is AMAZED by its pretty colors... Oh! WOW, COOL!
; )

Becca - What a great tree! I wonder how many small children it has devoured!

Sling - That's what's so wonderful and amazing about Mother Nature: there are incredible things of all magnitudes going on all the time. The Grand Canyon is awesome in its way; the bright red miniature fungi in a tiny rock crevasse can be just as amazing if you look closely at them (and when this old wizard crawls around to look at them, her bones ache too)!

Officer Gary - But I was only going 35... Ooops, wrong officer.

Officer Gary - I have a Pentax istDx. It's a good camera but at times I am frustrated that the lens isn't "crisper." The limitation of Pentax is that you can't substitute any other camera lens for theirs.

I think I will soon devote a post to how I became a photographer... In short, I have often been told that I "have the eye." That is my blessing. I am slowly learning the technical side.

Beautiful pics, Wizard .. every single one a gem! Love the theme .. Mom Nature always seems a little schizophrenic to me this time of year; it's delightful to see her in all her glory.

It's so wet and green there! We have such a completely different eco system than you do. Fascinating! Thanks so much for sharing your fellow forest dwellers. Carmon

I have a Nikon, with different lenses that I am trying to figure out how to use. My hands shake and that makes it hard to use a Macro.

Beautiful pictures.

Yes I would definitely read your how I became a photographer. Wonderful pictures.

Oh my! The one with the tree over the old foundry...my first response was "oh my." These photos are spectacular.

I like the skin on your blog. The bark is really cool at the sides. I am drawn to trees, the bark in particular. I like the way it swirls and winds around. I like to take my finger and follow the path of texture.

very nice blog
