The Private Lives of Bluebirds...

A female Eastern Bluebird watches as her mate takes a bath. He splashed around, he hopped out, shook himself off, and then they flew away. The temperature here today is in the upper thirties, and they are headed south for the winter.

Gorgeous birds - their color is so electric! This has to be one of the cutest things I've seen in a long time.

It's a good thing you told me what the 2nd picture was...I'd never known it was a birdie. Wonderful clarity to the pics, eh?

...the pics are beautiful. But I can’t figure out the second one. Is that the reflection of the blue bird against the water and leaves?

I just saw your bluebird photos. The bathing bird is unique. I also
explored a little through your blog and the snakes in the woodpile would have created more of a response from me, I believe. Something like....eeeeeeek! while jumping in the air!

*thank you* for the beautiful bluebird link -- so glad you explained it....it kinda looked like the bathing bluebird was
dissolving.
