This collection of photographs and stories springs from the egocentric notion that others might enjoy reading a crone’s tales of a life lived somewhat off the beaten path. The stories are all true (unless noted otherwise). All WizenedEye.com photographs accompanying these pieces are my own work and are © copyrighted, as are the fiction pieces and fictional personae.

beautiful! dd has also been posting pics of her sunflowers. next year i'm planting some too.
i love your nature incident from the previous post. nature can be funny even if unintended?
the funniest/oddest thing i saw happened while camping in the grayson highlands of VA. my husband and I were out on the mountain at dusk when we heard this galloping. nothing unusual since feral ponies roam those mountains. so here comes a galloping pony.....being chased by a cow! i thought it was a hoot.
That's what happens when the horse says, "Nice udder!" (WINK, WINK)
; )
This photo reminds me of being 4 years old and wandring into a neighbor's yard one sunny day.
Said neighbor had a garden filled with sunflowers! To Li'l Craig they looked to be 10 feet high and were quite a sight. I still remember walking through the patch and craning my neck in wonder...
It's so nice to see that. Most of the flowers are wilting because of the heat here. Thanks for sharing!
Lovely! Mine are straggly and nowhere near ready to flower yet after being battered by hailstones early in their life. But I am about to post some pumpkin pix!
I love sunflowers! You just made me smile:)
Shhh, dont tell the Sunflowers, but I love to eat their seeds too!
But luckily they produce so many, there are plenty to share around.
I have been reading your back posts, & have enjoyed them immensely. Please email me!
Gorgeous image - I love the soft greens of the background and the placement of the ruffle in the upper right. It balances the image so nicely!
