This collection of photographs and stories springs from the egocentric notion that others might enjoy reading a crone’s tales of a life lived somewhat off the beaten path. The stories are all true (unless noted otherwise). All WizenedEye.com photographs accompanying these pieces are my own work and are © copyrighted, as are the fiction pieces and fictional personae.

Glorious pictures. Poor little robins thought it was Spring... wait it is Spring. Nature is cruel at times.
Poor little Robins...May the sun start to warm your enchanted forest and bring happiness to the creatures and the wonderful Wizard.
It DOES make sense that I snatched this photo for my desktop, doesn't it? Thanks for a beautiful picture!
There's something cute about fat little birds...
I'd feel for em if I didn't know they'd been vacationing all winter in Florida...
Same thing here...temps in the 60s, orchard in full bloom, then ten inches of snow! Even the cottonwood trees were taken by surprise. I'm glad your robins at least have some old shriveled up flowers to eat. Carmon
I love that little poem - it really captures that feel of spring that isn't yet.
Those plump little birds but the bushes are still so barren of any greenery. A tough spring for them.
the time is now. the birds know. the bees know it... (whats left of em anyway) even the mosquitoes know it.
awwww..they got fat down in Floirda!
Another fine Haiku wizard!
Keep 'em coming. :)
Wonderful pic and haiku! I think I shall dub 2007 as the year that spring didn't come.
early in the morn'
wind is howlin' up a storm
coffee and a sigh..
and it is very, very cold..
Dirk, as always, cuts to the core of the matter.
"Look out, birdie - Yma poison sumac!"
